    Do you prefer Thailand over Costa Rica? I watched many of your videos from CR.

      @TheRaindogger that's a tough question. Both countries are amazing. The surfing in Costa Rica is next level. Island hopping in Southern Thailand....also next level. I enjoy them both for different reasons and always look forward to going back. Thanks for checking out my channel. ✌️

    Also if ya dig this wonderful video on youtube 😀 you may enjoy the song " Most of All " By Glenn Kaiser and Where Roses Grow Live by Rez Band Awesome songs check them out. I remember hearing the song by Led Zepp " In My Time of Dyin " during my drug years and made me think about death and Jesus. Then a hippy friend that dug Jesus told me more of Jesus love and forgiveness and how I could also know Jesus love. So in 1981 I cried out to Jesus and wow man He came into my life and I had and have so much joy and peace and now know that through Jesus when I die I will be with Him in Heaven. Hey Jesus loves each of you also and yall can know Him if you are at all open. Just cry out to Him and a good question to ask yourself if you were to die today would you go to heaven ? And if yes why ? To find out more please read the Gospel of John in the Bible or check out the movie on UA-cam. 😀

    Hi Stephen I'm really enjoying your Annapurna Circuit video. My wife and I did the trek in 2016. I have a question for you: Did you have any issues with the new trekking rule that came into force in April 2023, where independent trekking was not allowed? Trekkers must travel with a guide. Did you have any problems regarding the new rule when at the checkpoints?

    • @StephenAbroad
      @StephenAbroad 8 місяців тому

      Hey David, thank you for checking out my videos. I really do appreciate it. The only requirement for trekking the Annapurna Circuit on your own is an Annapurna Parks Pass. The pass is available at the Tourism Board Office in Kathmandu or Pokhara. I paid 3000 Sri Lankan Rupee for the pass and had to provide 2 passport size photos. I hiked for 10 days without issue. ✌️

    The worst thing about the trek was the cold in the unheated rooms. Altitude: no biggie, fatigue: no issue, heavy backpack: manageable. But the bitter cold nights, especially after Manang: Ohh boy....

    My brother and I did the Annapurna base camp in 1986. It was really hard especially with 20kg in each rucksac plus the tent was 3.5 kg. My mate did the Thorong La pass at 5750 m and said the oxygen is so much less but already I remember we felt the altitude when we left Hinko cave and machepura base camp to ABC was hard. We were feeling like 70 year old men. It's certainly much more developed now but I think we paid around £2.50 for a months trekking visa. No electricity and it was cold at ABC on the night minus 15 c. The goat stew tasted so good and dhal bhat and chapati.

      I'm sure a lot has changed since the 80's. Electricity, wifi and sometimes hot water are available pretty much in every guesthouse, from Besisahar to Manang. After Manang, electricity turns to solar and scarce. Wifi is unavailable, and warm water is not possible. I never saw goat stew on any menu, but I did see Yak Burger. They were pretty good. Thank you for taking the time to leave this message for me and for checking out my videos. I really do appreciate it. ✌️

    I'm writing to express my sincere appreciation for your amazing UA-cam video about your hiking adventures in Nepal. I was truly captivated by your stunning visuals and engaging narration, and I found your experience to be both inspiring and informative. As a fellow hiker and nature enthusiast, I was particularly impressed by your ability to capture the beauty and majesty of the Nepalese Himalayas. Your videos are not just about hiking; they are about exploring the world, connecting with nature, and pushing your own limits. I was also struck by your genuine passion for sharing your experiences with others. You have a natural ability to connect with viewers and make them feel like they are part of your journey. I am confident that you are on the cusp of UA-cam stardom, and I encourage you to keep making such great content ahead. Thank you again for sharing your love of hiking and the natural world with us. The collectivos run all day and night. I don't recall when the Ruins open, but I believe you will have no problem getting a collectivo at 8:00am. There are many tourist buses and taxis to and from the ruins sites. Transportation is definitely not a problem.
